Anisa Perbtani has been practicing since 2006. She comes from an organic place of self-healing. After suffering a crippling panic disorder, she found western medicine dimming her light. Through yoga, she was able to address the root causes rather than take her heart and soul offline, allowing her to be a whole and genuine person, secure in her personhood. She teaches her students as if she is teaching herself, talking about the things that soothe and empower her…to soothe and empower others. Anisa believes these practices can give you enough space between yourself and your pain to feel a shift in your perspective and make a move in your life.
Anisa is a Kriplau certified yoga teacher, informed in the first yoga tradition in America moving away from the guru disciple paradigm. It is deeply informed by psychology. With foundations in yoga, her Pilates practice puts non-violence first, and then challenges you in a way that is practical yet accessible to your body. For Anisa, empowering others is life changing.
“What I learned through yoga is that you meet people where they are, and when they feel supported, that’s when they can blossom. I’m here, I’ve got you. That’s all that matters.” – Anisa Perbtani
Jimmy has been practicing Pilates for more than ten years. He is certified by the National Pilates Program and awarded his NCPT (Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher) in 2022. Before discovering Pilates, he had a 40-year career as a research scientist with the US Department of Agriculture specializing in Medical Entomology (BS, MS, PhD., University of Florida).
Jimmy’s goal in each class is to provide a challenging workout that is an experience in body awareness. Pilates is an intelligent exercise regime and a dynamic, whole-body program that strengthens and lengthens specific muscles while maintaining and improving joint flexibility. The benefits translate to performance gains for many fitness activities including golf, tennis, cycling, running as well as other major sports. It is also effective at rehabilitation by incorporating specialized equipment designed to safely target the injury.
